Consilio Unveils Lio, an Internal Chatbot to Enhance Productivity

New tool empowers Consilio professionals to efficiently manage and analyze large amounts of documentation.

Consilio, the global leader in legal technology solutions and enterprise legal services, today announced the launch of Lio, a specialized internal chatbot powered by Consilio’s expert-centered AI approach. Lio is designed to provide intelligent responses and valuable insights to support Consilio’s professionals in their daily tasks, leading to an unparalleled support system Consilio can leverage as it delivers for its clients.

More broadly, Consilio is integrating expert-centered AI applications and capabilities across its organization to help its professionals become more efficient and productive. This application and productivity tool is tailored to Consilio’s best practices and is implemented leveraging Consilio’s “AI with Integrity” risk management framework.

As part of this ongoing commitment, Consilio is rolling out Lio to strengthen it’s information security operations by reducing the time for their professionals to safely access data repositories. The chatbot also references predefined incident response playbooks for common security events (i.e. social engineering, phishing, and ransomware attacks), assists in triage and escalation, and helps communicate with internal users on policy enforcement and compliance.

One of the key priorities throughout the development process of this internal chatbot was ensuring the quality of model training and prompts. Consilio has implemented robust implementation plans, leveraging assigned knowledge managers to review and curate the right training information. Lio operates within a dedicated, secure, self-contained environment, which provides robust feedback for Consilio employees during the prompt / response process to increase the assistive quality of the chatbot.

In addition to internal uses of AI, Consilio is actively developing and piloting LLM-powered chatbot applications to aid in legal investigations, development of summaries, and conducting legal research and document reviews, among other critical legal functions.
